Arrange exhibition of the Oral Health Promotion Bus

Bilateral interactive delivery of oral health message
The Oral Health Promotion Bus is parked at different neighborhoods all around Hong Kong offering you a novel, comfortable and convenient environment to learn oral health messages and practice the various oral hygiene techniques.
 
EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES:
Information zone
You can freely choose to browse from the rich and comprehensive information base according to your personal needs. There are eight main themes in the content which can lead you step by step into the vast world of oral health information.
"Know the teeth" starts from introducing the basic knowledge such as the structure, types and nomenclature of teeth, and proceeds to the information on abnormal conditions of the teeth.
"Common oral problems" lists out and explains the common oral health problems such as bruxism (grinding of teeth), malocclusion (crooked teeth), etc.
"Oral diseases" gives you a full picture of the causes and manifestation of different kinds of oral diseases such as dental caries, periodontal disease, apthous ulcer and oral cancers etc.
"Oral treatment" introduces in detail the rationale and procedures of different dental treatment, such as fillings, extraction, root canal therapy, teeth whitening, orthodontic treatment and implant, etc., with graphic and written illustrations.
"Oral care products" and "Oral care habits" help to enhance your oral health awareness and enable you to master oral care techniques such as toothbrushing, flossing, etc.
There is also a Q & A section on "Common dental misconceptions" which aims at answering common questions of different targets including the youth, adults, family and elderly.
Furthermore, "Dental services in Hong Kong" provides information on how to seek dental care from the public's perspective. At the same time, the section also reminds them of the patients' rights and obligations.
In addition, "Special oral health information packages" are designed to tailor the needs of the special people including the diabetics, patients receiving radiotherapy, smokers, pregnant women, caregivers of the special needs group and beauty lovers.
 
Simulated Oral Laboratory
There are five cyber-looking dummy heads installed with teeth models for you to practice toothbrushing and flossing techniques following the demonstration shown on the computer screens.
 
News Express
Plasma screens are placed both inside and outside the bus to continuously deliver oral health messages, newest information and oral health tips through video clips, news and advertisement.
 
Display corner
The corner displays the newest models of teeth.
 
Information rack
It offers a variety of oral health education pamphlets and booklets for you to take home and read. This information can supplement and provide further information on the main themes.
 
Rules and regulations of booking the Oral Health Promotion Bus
 
  1.
We welcome local organizations in Hong Kong to apply for the Oral Health Promotion Bus service. Please browse the Oral Health Promotion for details. At the moment, the information provided on the Bus is in Chinese.
  2. You can select any of the following methods to reserve booking for the Oral Health Promotion Bus :
    i.
On-line reservation is fast and convenient. Responsible person of organizations can register as a recognized user. The organization will then receive their user ID and password. Users are requested to secure their user ID and password in order to facilitate their use of on-line services. Users may use their user ID and password to reserve booking. The period avaliable for on-line booking is between 2 to 5 months after the application date.
    ii.
Users can call the Oral Health Information Hotline at 2713 6344 to request for the application form. After filling in the form, please send it back to the Oral Health Education Unit by fax or by post. The fax number and the address are shown on the form.
  3. The Oral Health Promotion Bus can only accommodate 15 visitors at a time and the duration of visit is about 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. The normal service hour of the Bus is 10:30am to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday. Special service hours will be arranged upon request.
  5. The applicant organization is expected to provide a daily total of 200 visitors.
  6. An acknowledgement of receipt of the application will be sent to you by email or by fax within one working day.
  7. The parking information or location map should be provided to our Unit upon request. Site visit may be arranged if necessary.
  8. We will notify you of the result of your application later.
