Application of the Brighter Smiles Playland Visitation (2023-24)
Arrangement and Guidance Notes
- The Brighter Smiles Playland (“Playland”) is a free facility specially designed for the K2/N3 children.
- The “Playland” is open from Monday to Friday (except for public holidays). There are 4 sessions in a day. Each session lasts for 1 hour and a maximum of 90 children can be accommodated.
- The number of school staff and accompanying persons shall not exceed 10 in each visit.
- The barrier free access facilities of our Division includes accessible service counter, accessible entrance, lift, accessible toilet and tactile guide path. For enquiry about barrier free access facilities, please contact our staff on duty or Access Officer at 2760 5225.
- The following arrangement is adopted this year to process the “Playland” visitation (2023-24) application for kindergartens/nurseries in Hong Kong (K2/N3).
Applications by other KG/NU grades or other organisation(s) will only be considered on individual basis, please contact us at 2199 9200 on 1 August 2023 (9:00am) or after. Any application prior to that date will not be accepted.
Priority Online Application
The Priority Online Application includes TWO stages:
First Stage: Your school can obtain a code online for the lot drawing procedures, and a “Designated Online Application Time Slot” will be allocated to your school by a lot drawing exercise conducted by our Division.
Second Stage: Your school can then make the online application during the “Designated Online Application Time Slot”.
First Stage: Obtain a code for the lot drawing procedures & be allocated the “Designated Online Application Time Slot” by a lot drawing exercise
- Your school can obtain a code anytime online during the specified period below. (The code will be generated automatically by the system.)
From 15 May 2023 (9:00 am) to 19 May 2023 (5:00 pm)
Points to note:
- Order of the codes is not related to the order of the “Designated Online Application Time Slot” that is allocated to the school. There is no need to obtain the code early. Schools can obtain the code anytime within the above period.
- As all login information updating services will be temporarily suspended during the above period, schools should make their online username registration or password retrieval on or before 12 May 2023.
- Please update and confirm your school’s email address, fax number and contact number, etc. in the system in advance.
- Method of obtaining a code for the lot drawing procedures
- Please log in to the “Toothclub” website, www.toothclub.gov.hk, then click
- Enter your organisation ID and password
- Select “Obtain a code for the lot drawing procedures”
- Print the code for record purpose. (A confirmation notice will also be issued to the school by email within 48 hours)
Points to note:
- Please log in using the aforesaid method.
- If the requests for obtaining the codes are excessive at one time point, the operation of the computer system may be interrupted and please log in again later.
- Each school is only allowed to obtain one code. Repeated request will not be processed by the computer system.
- The main school and its branches must obtain their individual codes.
- For schools which have not chosen the “Priority Online Application” arrangement, they can apply for the “Playland” visitation during the “Routine Online Application” period.
- Allocation of the “Designated Online Application Time Slot” by a lot drawing exercise
Date and Time: 24 May 2023 (10:30 am)
Venue: The Auditorium, 4/F, Argyle Street Jockey Club School Dental Clinic, 147J Argyle Street, Kowloon (Observation of the lot drawing procedures is welcome).
Points to note:
- Results of the lot drawing will be sent to school by email, and the results will also be announced on “Toothclub” website after 4:00 pm on 31 May 2023.
- Please contact us if your school fails to receive the notification by 1:00 pm on 2 June 2023.
- In case of emergency, please visit the “Toothclub” website for further updates and announcement.
Second Stage: Make online application during the “Designated Online Application Time Slot”
Your school can log in the “Online Services of Oral Health Education Division” of the “Toothclub” website and make your “Priority Online Application” according to the “Designated Online Application Time Slot” during the 5 June 2023 to 28 June 2023.
Points to note:
- Each school is only allowed to make online applications within their designated time slot.
- The online application should be completed within 20 minutes, otherwise, the school should log in again.
- The school is required to enter the date, time of visitation and details of the school, such as the last name of the applicant, contact phone number, fax number, email address, number of participants, number of staff and accompanying persons, etc.
- After submitting the application, a confirmation notice will be issued to the school via email within 48 hours
- Please verify the information at your earliest convenience and have it printed out as your record. You are required to produce the printed notice on the day of visitation.
- If amendment of the reserved visitation date or session time is needed after the designated time slot, please log in the system to process the request on or after 3 July 2023 (9:00 am).
- In case of emergency, the online application system will remain in operation. You can still make the priority online application during the designated time slot. In addition, the system will be open for you to make application on the next working day (except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays) during the same time slot. Please stay tuned for further updates to the “Toothclub” website announcement.
Routine Online Application
From 3 July 2023 (9:00am) onwards, all schools which do not choose the “Priority Online Application” can make their applications for the “Playland” visitation (2023-24) or modify their application information via the routine online service at the “Toothclub” website by logging in “Online Services of Oral Health Education Division”.
Cancellation or Change of booking
You can cancel or make changes on your booking according to the following instructions through the internet directly or fax your booking confirmation document with marked changes to us at 2760 4073. For enquiries, please contact our staff at 2199 9200.
It is more convenient for you to change your booking information on internet.

Except for class suspensions announced by the Education Bureau, schools will be recorded if their visitations are cancelled without 14 days prior notice or the number of visiting children is less than 70% of the booked number.
If a school has been recorded for two consecutive years, its application for visiting the “Playland” will be deferred for 2 months in the subsequent year.
Preparation guidelines for the visitation (Map)
- Arrive 15 minutes before the visit with the confirmation notice for registration and arrange children to go to toilet and wash their hands.
- The duration of the visit is one hour. For late arrival, Dental Therapist will modify the scheduled duration and content of the activities accordingly.
- Please assist in dividing the children into groups and keeping the order during the activities.
- For the sake of hygiene, children shall not put any toys or objects of the “Playland” into their mouths during activities.
- Teachers are welcome to take photos and videos as long as the activities will not be interfered.
- Please prepare extra sets of children’s clothes for contingencies.
- Arrange children to wash their hands after the visit.
